Jacqueline Miles' Obituary
Miles, Jacqueline Henderson went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 24, 2013. Jackie was born to Jessie Henderson and Houston Henderson on September 23, 1920, in Emad, Louisiana. She married Col. Joseph Warren Miles on May 22, 1938 and was married to him for 72 years until his death on March 9, 2010. She is survived by her daughters, Pamela Ann Hollis, and husband, Oscar Carl Hollis, and Patrice Nichols, brother-in-law, Francis Miles, and wife, Ruby Miles. She was predeceased by her sisters, Elaine Michero and Barbara Sipp who both died in 2013. She leaves behind grandchildren, Jonathan Warren Hollis, Tracey Carver, Christopher Guajardo, and wife, Jena; and great granddaughters, Brooklyn Nicole Guajardo and Lilly Carver. Jackie Miles was a member of Preston Hollow Methodist Church for over 30 years. She attended Centenary College in Shreveport, Louisiana. She also volunteered through the years as a Red Cross aide in various military hospitals and helped in community organizations. Jackie thought very often of the many individuals whom she had met throughout her lifetime and how each of them had touched her life. The family wishes to express their appreciation to Gwen Burrell who through her devotion and love for Jackie took care of her and helped the immediate family for several years. The family is also grateful to the staff of Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas and Avalon Residential Care Homes for their care and concern for Jackie. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, November 29, 2013 at Restland Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at Restland Memorial Park.
