Jacqueline Ruempolhamer's Obituary
Our beautiful mother, Jacqueline Ruempolhamer, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 6, 2016, in Denton, TX surrounded by her loving family. She was 94. She was a dedicated wife to her husband of 34 yrs, Francois Ruempolhamer. Born January 29, 1922, in Jakarta, Indonesia to Dutch parents, Charles Theodore Van Hemert and Wilhelmine de L’tang Van Hemert, Mom spent her childhood in Indonesia until WWII, when the Dutch were rounded up by the Japanese and put into concentration camps where she spent 3 ½ yrs as a POW. After the Liberation, Mom and her family went to Holland, and then she immigrated to the United States with her husband in 1957. Mom was a graceful woman who had great love for her family and a soft heart for animals. She loved to entertain, hosting many parties and gatherings over the years. She also had a servant’s heart, dedicating many hours to her church and her community. Her trademark smile and optimism touched everyone she met. A funeral service will be held Sunday, December 11, 2016, at noon at Restland’s Abbey Mausoleum, 13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX, where she will be interred. Jacqueline was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Francois Henri Ruempolhamer and step-son, Robert Jan Ruempolhamer. Mom is survived by daughter, Joyce Rambonnet McClure and her husband Parker of Denton, TX; son, Jean Jacques Rambonnet, Jr. of Lewisville, TX; step-son, Francois H. Ruempolhamer, Jr. and his wife Joyce, of Amsterdam, The Netherlands; step-daughter, Renee Mels and her husband Nico, of Vriezenveen, The Netherlands; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family wishes to thank Kristina Entz and Deb Crock, her longtime aides, for their dedicated care to Mom. Those we love don’t go away, They walk beside us every day… Unseen, unheard, but always near, Still loved, still missed, and very dear. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted into Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75243.
