Jake Hogg Jr.'s Obituary
Jake Hogg Jr. 80, of Dallas Texas passed away on September 29,2022 surrounded by his loved ones. Jake a native of Palestine, Texas, was the 7th of 12 children. Jake was a devoted believer and an active member of First Baptist Church of Hamilton Park in Richardson, TX.
Jake moved to Dallas where he started his own business. His hard work led him to become a Master Carpenter specializing in cabinetry. He could build anything he set his mind to. Jake later began working for Wood Product Company where he became the Lead Project Manager. After retiring from there his focus was given to his own company and helping those that resided in his community. Jake was known in Hamilton Park for providing his “Jack of all trade “skills. He had gifted hands and mastered many trades through out his life.
Jake had a love for horses, Old Tony and Sugar were his favorites and constant companions. He was a member of the Traveling Eagle Club, often riding along side his sister Carolyn and brother James.
Jake loved cooking Sunday dinners as well as gardening. His garden was often the center piece of his meals with various greens being the staple. Jake will be remembered for his sayings like, “It’s your wagon, you can either push or pull it” or “You know ain’t none of us perfect”.
Preceding him in death are his parents Frank and Emma Jane Hogg, along with his siblings: James Hogg, Juanita Smith, Wilmer Hogg, Carolyn Jordan, Laura Richmond, Melvin Hogg and Johnny Hogg.
Jake leaves to cherish his memory his children Georgetta Terrell(Michael), Constance Ramirez, Nina Lavine(Kalton), Erik Wright, Erika Hogg and his sisters; Alma Faye DeCluette, Myrtie Z DeCluette (Fred), Annie Mae DeCluette(Ronald) and his brother; Frank Hogg, his grandchildren Ashley Hogg, Yvonne Warren, Bruce Warren Jr., Sophia Warren, Emmanuel Lavine, Jeremiah Lavine, Ethan Wright, Eleana Wright, Arnya Akil, and Brianna Hogg, great grandchildren; Sirr-Davion Jackson, A’dayvia Jackson, Brishana Warren, Bruce Warren III, Jayden Trotman, Bralei Warren and Brayden Dunn.
