James Bartlett's Obituary
James Quinton Bartlett, age 87 of Wills Point, Texas passed away at his home on Friday, September 21, 2018 with his 3 children by his side. He was born May 28, 1931 to parents William Richard (Bill) and Nina Leona (Vandiver) Bartlett in Wolfe City, Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Theresa (Clancy) Bartlett, his parents Bill and Leona Bartlett, sisters Joan Hawkins and Nancy Fleming, granddaughters Joni Bartlett-Shaw and Caitlin Bartlett.After graduating from Forest Avenue High School in 1948, he was employed by the City of Dallas until he join the Navy in 1951. While in the Navy he met his wife Theresa at a dance. They were married and made their home in Dallas Texas. Upon his discharge from the Navy, he went back to work with the City of Dallas where he worked until his retirement after 36 years. After his retirement from the City of Dallas, James and Theresa bought land in Wills Point where he built their home. He enjoyed going to auctions and traveling Texas looking for antiques and vintage items. He enjoyed the hunt of finding the perfect items to sell at Canton’s First Monday for the last 25 years.James is survived by 3 children – Thomas Bartlett and his wife Barbara, Debbie Attaway and her husband Watt, Nancy Parsons and her husband Russell, 5 grandchildren -Watt Jr., Waylon, B.J., Danyelle and KayLee, 9 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren, 2 brothers – Don Bartlett and wife Barbara, and Robert (Bobby) Bartlett and wife Carla.Services will be held on Wednesday, September 26, 2018. Family with receive visitors at 10:00 a.m in the Wildwood Chapel at Restland with the funeral service following at 11:00 a.m.
