James Elmer Edison's Obituary
EDISON, JAMES ELMER, 86, passed away January 14, 2010, in Richardson, Texas. He was born February 1, 1924 in Lafayette, Colorado to parents Elmer and Mable Edison. James graduated from Cornell University Tau Beta Pi with a degree in Chemical Engineering. He was part of the V-12 program and served as a Lt. (j.g.) in the U.S. Navy during W. W. II. After the war, James worked for Sun Oil Co. for 40 years. He was a former president of the Lion’s Club and of the American Petroleum Institute. He loved singing and playing golf. A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 18, 2010 at St. Barnabas Presbyterian Church in Richardson, TX. A reception will follow at the church. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Orene, daughter Janice Yarbrough and her husband Dan of Odessa Texas, son James Edison and his wife Dottie of Victoria, Texas, four grandchildren, Amy, James Kyle, Cathy and James William and three great grandchildren. The family request that in lieu of flowers, please make denotations to the charity of your choice.
