James Rainey's Obituary
James Rainey of Palmer, TX passed away on August 25th, 2024. Jim is survived by his wife, Kathleen Rainey and his sons, Jason Rainey and Stephen Rainey, Jason’s wife Joyce Henderson and his grandson, Max Matson. He is also survived by his brother Allen Rainey, his sister Lyn Westermann with her husband Robbie Westermann, his brother David Rainey with his husband Chuck Sharp, his niece Katherine (Katy) Francis with her husband John Francis, their daughters Wren, Cedar and Ozette Francis and many cousins, in laws and friends.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Keith and Carolyn Rainey, his stepmother, Jean Rainey, his first wife, Kathleen Brown, and his nephew James (Jay) Westermann.
Jim was born in Georgia and grew up in Virginia. He enjoyed living near the river and had a passion for the water. Jim moved to Texas as a young adult. He had a proclivity for doing things his own way. As a child he always knew he wanted to own his own business. After moving to Texas, he worked at different places but through hard work and determination opened his own business and ran it for over forty years.
Jim possessed an adventurous spirit. He lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed racing, traveling, and bike riding with his friend Dwight. He had an appreciation for music. He enjoyed going to concerts and live music events.
Jim adored and respected his sons. His influence as a father is evident in the values he instilled in them. Jim had love for and dedication to his family and friends. He will be remembered for his warm, generous spirit. Jim’s spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. He will be forever loved and missed beyond measure.
