James "Jim" W. Crowley's Obituary
James Worthington Crowley of Dallas, Texas passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2017, at the age of 87. Jim was born on February 18, 1930, in Cookeville, Tennessee and was the only child of Worth and Jessie Crowley. The family moved to the Washington DC area in the 1940’s where Jim attended Woodrow Wilson High School and later received his BA and Juris Doctor from George Washington University. In 1952, Jim married Laura Bauserman and they had two children, Ken and Cindy. In 1965, Jim and Laura were divorced. Jim married Joyce Ann Goode, and two more children, John and Noelle, were soon added to the growing family. In 1969, Jim, Joyce and the two younger children relocated to the Dallas area where he was VP, Corporate Secretary and General Counsel for E-Systems, a major defense contractor. After 13 years of marriage, Jim and Joyce divorced, and Jim subsequently remarried for the last time to Carol Diane Golden. Carol brought along her four children, Laurie, Robert, Gary and Ginger, resulting in an immediate doubling of the Crowley-Golden clan! Sadly, Carol passed away in 2014. Jim today is survived by his eight children, James Kenneth and wife Beatriz Crowley, Laura Cynthia Kiser, John Worthington Crowley, Noelle Virginia Crowley, Laurie Golden Dees and husband Ken Dees, Robert James and wife Amy Golden, Gary Brian and wife Carissa Golden, and Ginger Golden Tow and husband Brent Tow; thirteen grandchildren, James Jeffrey Crowley, Katherine Marie Crowley, Jacob Houston Kiser (deceased), Laura Annalise Kiser, Brent Robert Golden, Bryan Hunter Golden, Cody Taylor Golden, Chandler Golden Waite and husband Matt Waite, Conor Golden, Christen Alexandria Crowley, James Colin Dees, Preston Wayne Tow and Chase Golden Tow and one great-granddaughter Blaise Marie Baker. The latest family member will probably need a scorecard when she is old enough to read! Jim was a devoted father, an active member of his community and church, a sympathetic listener, and a man of sound judgement. Jim’s career was long and varied beginning in underwriting, cartography, and contract administration for Atlantic Research and other government aviation contractors and he was instrumental in facilitating the merger of E-Systems and Raytheon. He was a member of American Society of Corporate Secretaries, the President of the Dallas Regional Group in 1988-89, and National Director 1989-92, National Security Industrial Association, Law Counsel for Manufacturers Alliance for Productivity and Innovation, Omicron Delta Kappa, Alpha Chi Sigma, Pi Sigma Kappa. He also was an accomplished musician and played both the French horn and the piano. He also sang in and served as President of the First Baptist Church of Richardson choir for many years. We remember melodies of classical music as Jim played his piano after coming home from the office. We remember for many years the enjoyment of watching Jim and his more musically inclined children perform in the annual church Christmas and Easter programs. We remember sleeping on the motorhome, menageries of pets (mainly cats), big family get-togethers, generosity in times of need and stability in times of stress. We remember so much. The now silent piano reminds those of us who grew up in Jim’s household of his music, his wisdom, his love, and the father we have lost.Visitation at Restland Memorial Park on Thursday, November 9, 2017, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. and a memorial service will be held on November 10, 2017, at 11:00 a.m., also at Restland. Memorial donations may be made in Jim’s name to your preferred veteran’s groups or animal rescue organizations.
