Janelle Sappington Moore's Obituary
Janelle Moore, 89, of Garland, Texas passed away on Friday April 4, 2025, at the Christian Care Center in Mesquite.
Janelle was born June 29, 1935 in Dallas, Tx. She is the daughter of John and Juanita Sappington.
She was raised in Dallas and was educated at North Dallas High School and graduated in 1953. She married Billy Tom Moore July 7, 1956 at Lovers Lane Methodist Church in Dallas. She is proceeded in death by her parents and her husband Bill Moore.
Janelle was a loving wife and best friend of Bill, her husband. She was active in her church First United Methodist Church Garland which they attended together for over 50 years. She enjoyed gardening and decorating and was a long-time member of the Garland Garden Club. She also enjoyed playing tennis for many years at the Garland Tennis Center. Later in life she rekindled her love for dancing and joined a senior citizen dance group which performed around the metroplex. Janelle also dedicated her time to deliver Meals on Wheels to those in need. She also was a part time model at the Dallas Apparel Mart for many years.
Janelle’s passion was her family! She loved spending time with her children and her grandchildren and her 12 great grandchildren. She was always the proudest (Nana) of all of their accomplishments but her greatest quality was loving them unconditionally as they grew up. The excitement she had for watching her grandchildren play sports or watching their drill team performances was unmatched.
Janelle is survived by her daughter Jana (David) Walls of Rockwall, her son Greg (Amy MacLaren) of Dallas, and daughter Kelly (Mike) Miller of Rockwall; 8 grandchildren David (Lindsey) Walls of Lexington, Kentucky, Rachel (Bo) Cogbill of Oregon City, Oregon, Audrey (Collin) Burns of Dallas, Texas, Hope (Parker) Woodruff of Dallas, Texas, Gabriel Moore of San Francisco, California, Jessie Moore of San Francisco, California, Matt Miller of Dallas Texas, Joey (Alexann) Miller of Frisco, Texas.
The visitation will be Tuesday April 8, 2025 at Restland Funeral Home 13005 Greenville, Ave Dallas, Tx.
from 4-6 pm. The funeral will be on Wednesday April 9, 2025 at 10 am at the Wildwood Chapel at Restland.
Burial immediately following.
The family would like to thank the Christian Care Center staff in Mesquite for all their love and care for Janelle while she was there the last 8 years. The kindness, the prayers, the dedication and grace the staff displayed to Nana and our entire family has been such a blessing. In addition, we would like to also thank the Hospice staff who cared for Janelle over the last few months of her life.
Memorials may be given to Alzheimer’s Disease Research in memory of Janelle Moore.
