Janet Lou Blackwell's Obituary
Ms. Janet Blackwell, age 88, passed away on November 9, 2022, in Dallas, Texas. She was the daughter of Mr. Lewis Edwin Sweany and Ms. Jean E. Saul of Carroll, Iowa. She was a resident of the Richardson, Texas area for more than 60 years. In the early 1970's the family spent several years living in Germany. During their stay in Germany, both Janet and her family were active in the Transatlantic Council of Boy Scouts and made several camping trips to the International Scout Center in Kandersteg, Switzerland. After returning to the states, Janet worked in the food preparation office at SMU until her retirement.
She leaves behind her husband of 65 years, William Blackwell, son Scott Blackwell, daughter Lisa O'Dwyer, two grandchildren, three great grandchildren and all the friends and individuals who knew and loved her.
Janet loved animals and always had several dogs and cats at all times. In lieu of flowers the family requests that instead donations in her name be made to the Richardson Animal Shelter via Richardson Animaluv, P.O. Box 831726, Richardson, TX 75083.
