Janet Curtis Teddlie's Obituary
Janet Curtis Teddlie, 88, passed away on November 19,2018. Born in Abilene she was the beloved only child of Wayne and Lucille Curtis. The family moved to Dallas when Jan enrolled at Southern Methodist University. She earned both a bachelor and master’s degree and was a dedicated member of Chi Omega sorority. Jan’s early teaching career took her from Port Arthur to San Diego, and several cities in Europe where she taught for the US Army. She eventually returned to teaching in Dallas but after she earned her PHD from TWU she thrived as the reading consultant for the district of Dallas. She completed her career at SMU teaching in the education department. In 1966 she married Eric Teddlie. They spent the next 52 years traveling the world visiting every continent where they toasted a life of happiness and adventure. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at 3:00 PM in the Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home.
