Janice Florence Mitchell's Obituary
Florence Janice “Jan” Jones Mitchell was born on March 18, 1947 in Dallas, Texas and passed away on October 15, 2016 in Garland, Texas. She is survived by husband, Paul Hunt; daughter, Angie Langbein Terrano; and numerous family, friends and beloved pets. Jan is preceded in death by her sister, Rebecca “Becky” Ann Jones; her father Walter Desmond “Dub” Jones; and mother Christine “Chris” Elizabeth Sparks Jones. Jan graduated from Bryan Adams High School in Dallas, Texas in 1965. She was a longtime co-owner of the “Bargain Store Appliance Center” with close friend Rusty “Bubba” Fenske. She was a gifted salesperson who never met a stranger and always made others feel valued. Through her life’s journey and tribulations, Jan developed a strong faith in God that influenced everyone she met. She was filled with the Holy Spirit and always had an encouraging word for those she met. She had a kind and loving nature and recognized that people, from all walks of life, were God’s creation. Jan enjoyed gardening, television, Sudoko, crosswords and her Dr. Peppers. She was a lover of nature and found much joy in her beloved cats. Service will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at 10 AM in the Wildwood Chapel at Restland.
