Jerry Don Lancaster's Obituary
Jerry Don Lancaster, age 87, of Plano, TX went to his eternal home on July 12, 2022. Jerry was born on March 10, 1935, in Gladewater, TX. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Olyne Lancaster, brother LC Lancaster, and son Derek Lancaster. Jerry is survived by his wife of 67 years, Beverly Lancaster of Plano, TX and their 3 sons, 8 grandchildren, and 15 Great-Grandchildren. Cat (wife of the late Derek) Lancaster of Frisco, TX and 3 children; Amber Hurst and husband Kelly of St. Louis, MO (5 children), Preston Lancaster and wife Lauren of Del Mar, CA (3 children), Hunter Lancaster of Frisco, TX; Aaron Lancaster and wife Cheryl of Cedar Park, TX and 2 children; Bryce Lancaster and wife Camille of Round Rock, TX and Kyle Abrego and husband Aaron of Hutto, TX (1 child); Daron Lancaster and wife Cathy of Celina, TX and 3 children, Camerine Day and husband Matt of The Colony, TX, Cassidy Lancaster and Carey Lancaster.
Jerry grew up in Gladewater, TX and graduated from Gladewater HS. He married his high school sweetheart, Beverly Hutson in 1955, and moved to Dallas, TX. Together Jerry and Beverly worked to pay for college. After graduation from Southern Methodist University in 1960 with a BA in Math, Jerry went to work for the Wyatt Company. Jerry spent the next 60+ years in the Insurance Industry. In 1963 Jerry formed Diversified Consultants an actuarial consulting firm. His three sons all worked for him for many years and in 2002 Jerry and Derek formed Providence Property and Casualty company. Jerry loved his work and never really retired.
Although he never really had any “hobbies, Jerry was known for his great love of his children and grandchildren. He was so proud of his family and loved them fiercely. His faith was also very important and he freely talked about his relationship with the Lord. Jerry and Beverly have been active members of Grace Church of Plano for over 30 years. He was a friend of so many and very generous with his time and gave generously to many organizations.
