Mrs. Jerry Jones Solomon's Obituary
SOLOMON, JERRY JONES (NEE BURNS), a Dallas resident, passed away peacefully at home on January 25, 2007. Born June 29, 1922 in rural Collin County, Texas to John L. and Mary A. Burns. The middle child of five, Jerry was forced to grow up early when she lost her mother at the age of 12. Jerry was preceded in death by her 3 brothers, Albert, Bob and Mickey; sister, Mary; her husband, Fred E. Solomon; and his son, Fred Jr. Jerry was bright, witty and outspoken. There was never a doubt where she stood on anything. She had a great sense of humor and she loved to laugh. In her Golden Years, as her faith in her Lord grew, she seemed to become more serene and peaceful and anyone who knew her could see it in her face. Jerry was blessed with an Angel here on earth in Gloria King, her dear friend and caregiver. Gloria and her daughter, Whitney, cared for Jerry and loved her as if she were their own mother. Her daughter, Debbie, can never fully express her thanks to them for their care and devotion. Jerry is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Hal McCommas; her step-daughter, Dorothy Carr; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; her cousins, Sue, Virginia, Margaret and Graham; and many nieces and nephews. Jerry is also preceded in death by Johnny J. Jones, Debbie’s father. Special thanks go out to Sandra at Community Senior Services and to the staff at Parkland Geriatrics Center. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be 12:30 PM Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at Restland Wildwood Chapel.
