Jewel Barnes Click's Obituary
Jewel Barnes Click ascended into heaven December 24, 2018. She was born June 12, 1927 in Geneva County, Alabama to Calvin and Ruth (Helms) Barnes and raised in Andalusia and Mobile, Alabama.She will be deeply missed by her loving family, devoted friends and all the wonderful individuals who came to know and love her.Jewel was predeceased by her parents, her husband of 42 years; Roy Click, Jr, Siblings; Calvin, Jr, Abbie Holmes, Roscoe, Nina Wilson and Harlan; and a grandson Alexander (Sasha) Putala.Jewel is survived by 5 children Margaret Watt, Nakita Putala (Randall), Nancy Click, Patricia Mayfield (Nickolas, Jr) and Roy L. Click. Jewel’s Grandchildren (known by all as Mama Jewel); James Watt, Vera Putala, Victor Putala, Nickolas Mayfield III (Katie), Kimberly Bueche (Gary), Benjamin Mayfield (Emily) and Abby Mayfield. Great-Grandchildren; Logan Watt, Alex Putala, Emma Mayfield, Caroline, Patrick, Audrey and Amelia Bueche, and Kelly and Marjorie Mayfield.She was a member of First Baptist Church of Richardson, Texas for 34 years serving and involved in several ministry’s including a leader for many years in Smile Stitchers (when parents take their sick children to Children’s Medical Center in Dallas it is a joy for child/parent that the lab techs, etc. are able to help divert the children’s attention in picking a finger puppet provided by Smile Stitchers/First Baptist Church of Richardson, Texas – for the children that are in the hospital for awhile they are able to pick from a variety of puppets to grace each finger).We wish to thank our Mother’s care giver GG McKenzie in taking such loving care of our Mother. As well as, Encompass Hospice providing care and guidance during this time.Services will take place Saturday December 29, 2018 at 12 Noon in The Abby Chapel at Restland Funeral Home – Viewing will be from 11 to 12 Noon.Please consider a Memorial in Jewel’s name to First Baptist Church of Richardson, Texas – Smile Stitchers and/or Goldenaire’s (Senior) Choir Fund.
