Joan Ann Howard's Obituary
HOWARD, JOAN ANN passed away on January 17, 2014 after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease. She is survived by her husband, Dr. G. B. Howard, III; her children Jayne and David Brown, Janet Howard, Claire and Bill Howard, and Joanna Howard; her grandchildren Joan Brown, Jana Brown, Burns Brown, Blaire Howard, and Buc Howard; sister, Billie Jean Daniel; nephews and niece Gilbert Daniel, Jana Miller, and Matthew Daniel. Joan was born on July 25, 1933 in Dallas, Texas to Ila Mae and William N. Wells. She graduated from St. Paul School of Nursing in 1955. In 1954, she married the love of her life, G. B. “Bill” Howard, III., a dentist. They would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this November. She loved her family and friends with all of her heart and soul and was a wonderful, warm hostess. She loved life and lived it to the fullest. A ‘sand and sea girl’, she loved the beach, skiing with her family in Colorado, traveling, playing golf and cards at the Dallas Athletic Club. Laughing was important to her and she lit up the room everywhere she went. Luck was always on her side. Going to Las Vegas was a favorite of hers. She was known for her huge smile, gorgeous legs, positive attitude, and her understanding and compassion for others. We will miss her determination and courage that she displayed without complaint. She was the rock and the glue for her family and she will be remembered with love forever in our hearts. Visitation is Monday, January 20th, 6:00-7:30 p.m. at Restland Funeral Home. Services will be held Tuesday, January 21st, 2:30 p.m. at Restland Memorial Chapel, 13005 Greenville Ave. Dallas, Texas 75243
