John Michael Donlon's Obituary
In Loving Memory of John Michael Donlon
February 3, 1950 – May 19, 2025
John Michael Donlon, 75, of Dallas, Texas, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2025. Born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on February 3, 1950, Mike lived a full and vibrant life marked by deep connections, hard work, and an endless enthusiasm for the things he loved.
Mike was the proud president and owner of Insurance Pros Agency, Inc. in Dallas, where he built not just a successful business, but lasting relationships with clients and colleagues alike. A lifelong supporter of LSU, he wore his purple and gold with pride and never missed a game if he could help it—offering, of course, expert commentary from his favorite spot on the couch as an “armchair coach.”
Mike was known for his warmth and sense of humor, generous spirit, unwavering loyalty, and his love for family—both by blood and by choice. He loved his wife, Mary, and found great joy in being a stepfather to Amy Aulenbach and Brian Aulenbach, and a proud grandfather figure to Grant, Faith, and Kyle, the children of Brian and his wife Lauren. He also shared close bonds with his niece Kelly Schamblen and nephews Ryan and Patrick Donlon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Cecil Donlon, and his brother, Thomas Donlon Jr. Mike’s beloved Golden Doodle, Molly, rarely left his side and was a true companion to the end.
Mike’s life will be celebrated in the stories we tell, the laughter he inspired, and the many memories shared by all who knew and loved him. Whether cheering on his team or simply enjoying a quiet evening with family, Mike lived his life with heart.
In honor of Mike, wear your purple & gold, tell a good story, and raise a glass. He wouldn’t want it any other way.
Family is requesting that no flowers be ordered and sent to their home.
