GARRETSON, JOHN DANIEL born January 12, 1923 in Swan Lake, Oklahoma has passed away January 25, 2014 in Dallas, Texas. Preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Lee and Sara Edna Garretson; sisters, Marguerite Eccles, Myrel Rose and Glenna Nasby. John is survived by his wife, Leona E. (Betty) Garretson; sister, Alma Wrigley; daughters, Phyllis Lathan, Susan Garretson Davis, Glenda Smith; grandchildren, Jim and Tim Lathan, Jennifer and Julie Davis, Caitlin and Cameron Broom; great-grandchildren, Sadie and Heidi Lathan (parents, Tim and Julia Lathan) Mazzy Burns (parents, Jennifer and Tommy Burns). Service will be held Thursday, January 30, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Highland Oaks Church of Christ. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Dallas Christian School, Christian Care Center, or Tipton Children’s Home, Tipton, OK.
