John H. Horton Jr.'s Obituary
John H. Horton Jr. AKA “Bub” “Philly” “Moose” and “Horty” by loved ones.
John passed away May 8, 2023 in Toms River, New Jersey at the age of 45. He was born November 28, 1977 to John Hardin Horton, Sr. and Jean Marie (Penny) Horton in Dallas, Texas.
John was an amazing artist and started drawing at a very young age. After attending the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, John has worked on projects for hundreds of people all over the world, including artwork for the president and many celebrities. John never met a stranger. He always made you feel welcome and had the best laugh. Although he was born in Texas, New Jersey was his home. He found solace at the shore, which he frequented often. John deeply loved music, and you never found him without jamming to his favorite tune! He was also an avid survivalist and spent considerable time sharpening his skills when he wasn’t drawing his next piece of art. John was taken from this world too soon and he will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Sammy Haskell Horton and Richard D. Hill; grandmothers, Gladys “Lynn” Horton and Nancy Hill, and his father, John H. Horton Sr.
