John has been our dear friend and neighbor for 30 years and we will miss him. John was always there to lend a helping hand when someone was in need. John watched out for his neighbors as the neighborhood watch captain and made us all feel safer! John let us know the status of the West Nile virus in our area, local crime issues and any strange occurrences in our area. In short, John kept us all informed …alerting us about common neighborhood issues, who was ill, in the hospital, who needed help and much more. John was a fine man and wonderful neighbor and he will be missed by everyone on our street. Our little boy Cody loved talking to John about his dogs. John understood about Cody ‘s Autism/Aspergers and was always sweet to him and happy to educate him about dog behavior. My husband Bruce and John shared a love of classic cars and he helped John build a 1929 Mercedes Kit Car that won 1 st place in the Garland car show. We had some very happy times with John; whether it was just sitting in the yard talking or sharing some fun at a car show…We will treasure our time with him.Our love and prayers are with John’s family at this difficult time. John was a special person. Rest in peace John.
