John Lionel Stephens Jr. was born on December 08, 1926 in Dallas, Texas and passed away on November 01, 2014 in Dallas, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, Gertrude Lea Stephens and John Lionel Stephens Sr. John is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dorothy Louise Stephens; daughters, Laura Suzanne Whatley and husband, Joe, Sandra Lea Lawton and husband, Scott; grandsons, John Warren Jackson, Jeffrey Scott Lawton, and Jonathan Patrick Whatley; great grandsons, Jude Patrick Whatley and Gage Alexander Whatley; also survived by Kelsey Wolf, Samantha Amendson, and 6 grand dogs. John was not only an avid hunter, awesome dad and husband, but also a Navy pilot veteran WWII, and retired from TXU after 38 years. The service for John will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at 3:00pm at The Wildwood Chapel- Restland Funeral Home. The visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the Wildwood Chapel. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75238 In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Heart Association/ Alzheimer’s Association.
