Joshua Andrew Wilkins' Obituary
Wilkins, Joshua Andrew began his journey May 19, 1987 in Dallas, Texas. He was the first child of Clayton and Karen Wilkins. Josh attended schools in the Richardson Independent School District from elementary school through high school. In 2010, he graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in Sociology with a minor in Marketing. Josh was an avid sports fan and a loyal supporter of the Dallas Cowboys. He grew up playing sports and later discovered his love of the arts. Joshua was a member of his school choir for years and participated in high school drama productions. During high school, he began his pursuit of modeling and acting. He signed with his first modeling agency at age 16 and modeled in local fashion shows. When Josh entered college, he signed with a Dallas-based talent agency and landed several commercial, print, and acting jobs. He began pursuing his acting career full time after college graduation. He appeared in films such as A Race Against Time: The Sharla Butler Story, Degenerates, and also in several television series. Josh moved to Los Angeles in May, 2013, where he continued to pursue his dream of being an actor, and was about to appear in a new web series. Josh loved living in Los Angeles, but always considered Dallas his home. Josh was a devoted brother and son. No matter what the situation, he put his family and friends first. His smile was contagious, and he never failed to make his friends and family laugh. His determination to follow his dreams was admirable. Joshua left those who loved him too soon, but God loved him most and called him home on May 21, 2014. He leaves to cherish his memory, devoted parents, Clayton and Karen Wilkins and two loving sisters, Catherine and Caroline Wilkins of Dallas, TX; grandparents, Selma Wilkins of Dallas, TX and Namon and Frances Power of Chicago, Il.; great aunts, Thelma Scott of Greensboro, North Carolina, Bettie Mae Coles of Washington D.C.; five aunts, Donna Gills (John) of Atlanta, Ga., Karla Mitchell (Gary) of South Holland, Il., Vivian Kimberley Samuels (Elliot) of Montgomery, Il., Valerie Kamille Marshall (Steven) of Country Club Hills, Il., Melanie Burns of Flossmoor, Il.; cousins, Jaron, Kelli, Brent, Garrett, Kristin, Kameron, Kharis, Dillon, Darryl, and Lyric; and a host of other relatives and friends.
