Josie Luise White's Obituary
Luise Jenkins White, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother born December 22, 1923, in Greenville, Texas to Clyde W. and Mary Jenkins, passed away December 14, 2010. She was valedictorian of her senior class at Caddo Mills High School, where she was Queen of the Carnival in 1939 and a proud member of the Greenville Texas Flaming Flashes drill team. She married the love of her life, Charles Vernon White who was her sweetheart since she was in the fifth grade, and her husband of nearly 70 years. They were members of the Caprice Dance club for over 30 years and danced with the Steeple Steppers Square Dance Club as well. Luise is a past Worthy Matron of A.C. Garrett Chapter Number 774 Order of the Eastern Star. She was retired from her career at Texas Instruments, and has been an active member of Lake Highlands United Methodist Church where she was part of the friendship class. She loved her poker club and book club, and she had a green thumb for gardening. She took great joy from and was honored and dearly loved by her family. Preceded in death by her parents and brother James Jenkins, she is survived by her beloved husband Charles, two sons Charles and wife Charlotte, Rick and wife Nancy, brother George Jenkins, grandsons Derek Daniel and wife April, Jason White, Ryan White and wife Kasia, and Neill White, four great-grandsons, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Visitation at Restland Funeral Home December 16, 4-6pm, and services at Lake Highlands United Methodist Church, 9015 Plano Rd, Dallas, TX 75238, 2pm, Friday, December 17. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Lake Highlands United Methodist Church.
