Mr. Joy Ray Lockaby's Obituary
Mr. Joy Ray Lockaby, 89, of Garland, Texas, was born to Houston and Edna Lockaby on May 6, 1934, in Bonham, Texas. He passed away on August 31, 2023, in Richardson, Texas.
Joy married Jacquelyn Lee “Jackie” Loftis on April 27, 1963.
His family will remember Joy for his love of reading books, joking around and spending time with his family.
Joy served his country in the United States Army as a Medical Specialist.
He is preceded in death by: his parents; his twin sister, Joyce Hughes; his granddaughter, Madison Lockaby; and his great-grandson, Carter McElreath.
Joy is lovingly survived by: his wife, Jackie; his son, David Lockaby and wife Monica; his daughter, Melissa Adkisson and husband Jeff; his grandchildren, Stacy Fruge and husband Dwayne, Raymond Bell, Jarred McElreath and wife Jessica, and McKenna Lockaby; and his great-grandchildren Bentley, Maya and Emma.
A graveside service with military honors will commence at 10:30AM on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at Restland Memorial Park.
