Joyce Ruth (Billye) Leathers' Obituary
Joyce Ruth (Billye) Leathers of Plano, Texas passed away on June 20, 2019 at the age of 90. She was born on April 7, 1929 in Royse City, Texas to parents, Homer Lee and Reba Viola Richey Streetman.Billye grew up in Blackland, Texas with her parents and 2 siblings. She married James A. Leathers on October 21, 1950. They were married for 48 years until his death on November 27, 1998. They moved to Garland, Texas and raised their four children there until moving to Lilburn, Georgia in 1973. They moved back to Garland, Texas in March 1979. They were members of the First United Methodist Church in Garland.She is survived by her children, John Leathers and wife Patsy of Rowlett, Texas; Joyce Fullerton and husband Mark of Graham, Texas; Kaye Schaum of Plano, Texas; and Jim Leathers of Plano, Texas; grandchildren, Cammy and Mark Wilkerson, Ty and Shannon Schaum, Angie McAden, Jennifer and Kevin Padgett, Mitch and Amy Leathers, Abby and Brian Roose, Trent Schaum and Allison Leathers; great grandchildren, Dalton McAden, Jordan and Paige Vineyard, Dustin Spigelmyer, Hannah and Colin Mason, Macy Schaum, Hayden Schaum, Julianna Schaum Berrios, Zoe Roose, Jared Padgett, Katelyn Padgett, Braden Padgett, Marlie Leathers and Jillian Leathers and Great-Great Grandchild, McKinley Mason, and several nieces and one nephew.Billye is preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, James A. Leathers, her grandson Andy Vineyard, her parents Homer & Reba Streetman, sister, Doris Harrell and brother, Dwayne Streetman.Her family wishes to thank Dr. Cox and the nurses and support staff at Vitas Inpatient Hospice in Carrollton, Texas for their amazing care and comfort.Visitation will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, June 23, 2019 at Restland Wildwood Chapel. Funeral services for Joyce will be held on Sunday, June 23, 2019 at 3:00 pm at Restland Wildwood Chapel located at 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, Texas 75243.
