Joyce Marcell Cox's Obituary
COX, JOYCE MARCELL MILLER the Lord welcomed his good and faithful servant on February 26, 2013. Joyce was born June 17, 1932 to David C. and Lena M. Miller in Cameron, TX. She graduated from Temple High School and then received her Bachelor of Science degree from Baylor University. Here on earth, there will never be a mother like her. Her very first job was at a Mexican food restaurant at the age of 14 then a civil servant for Health, Education and Welfare (HEW), Chance Vought Aero, and Tempco where she knew Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and John Glenn as test pilots before they were astronauts. She also worked for the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) where she was a water specialist until retirement in Dallas. Her hobbies included gardening, travel, dancing, musicals, super bowl parties for her Dallas Cowboys, New Year’s Eve parties with close friends, (10 couples), who remained friends for life-over 50 years. Joyce is survived by her daughter, Dana D. Cox; sister, Doris Dees; niece, Nell Dees; nephew, Dennis Dees; great nephews, Matt and Mike Dees; godson, Howard Reifsnyder; her dearest dog, Abbe and her best friend, Doris Cheng.
