Joyce Christal Swann's Obituary
Joyce Ann Christal-Swann passed peacefully on July 13, 2024. She was 85.
Joyce Ann Christal-Swann was preceded in death by her father Clarence Raymond Christal and her mother Doris Jean Christal and Stepmother Willie Inze Tinsley-Christal. A graduate of Texas A&M, she was a Licensed Language Therapist and worked with learning disabled children for years. She received many accolades from LULAC and made a huge difference in so many people’s educational lives. In her younger years, she was a hair model, a stunt skier, and a lifeguard.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Joe Swann. They had three children, Jeanette Wright, husband Gary Joe Wright of Cedar Park, Susan Swann of Houston, Clifford Paul Swann, wife Keiko Tushima-Swann of Austin, grandchildren Frank and Suzanne Pinno-Schoeplein of Cedar Park, Mike and Stephanie Schoeplein-Yaw of Leander, Jacquelynne Schoeplein of Baytown, Jesse and Christine Schoeplein-Coram of Round Rock, and Michael and Grace Schoeplein-Thornhill of Jasper, Jason Swann of Austin, Benjamin Swann of Austin, and Jennifer Swann of Austin. She was loved by all of her great grandchildren Savannah, Victoria, Eliana, Olivia, Levi, Cooper, Caleb, Carter and Sawyer.
Later in life she was a Wilton cake instructor, awarded teacher of the year numerous times. She was the Austin Cake Lady and produced thousands of cakes for couples and beloved by many. She will be missed by all.
