Juanita Noble's Obituary
Juanita Smith-Noble, 90 Duncanville, TX Passed Away on May 13th, 2017 at a hospice Facility in Dallas. Mrs. Noble had Alzheimer’s and high blood pressure. Born January 1st. 1927 to Sherman and University Smith in Madill, Oklahoma. Preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Noble; daughter, Evelyn Watson; siblings, Herman Smith, Verney Smith(Lona Smith), and Bernice Smith. Juanita is survived by her grandson, Michael Watson. Ms. Noble lived in Dallas, TX. She lived her final years in the care of Ms. Essie Fielder who provided her with round the clock care in a loving warm environment. My favorite memory is on Sunday going to church. Grandma’s bed covered in Sunday Go To Meeting clothes, shoes and hats. My favorite was the felt white hat with a sunflower on the side and green Naturalizer slingbacks. Lunch at Wyatt s then the Cowboys on the 27 inch black and white TV that looked like a big piece of furniture. Grandma did not have a formal education but she made sure I did. I never wanted for clothes or shoes. I always had school pictures. and anything I needed grandma was always there. My mom gave me my love of reading, but my grandma shaped the subjects I chose. She was a fearless person she took me to H.L. Greens in downtown and to Neiman-Marcus to pick up her bottle of Estee Lauder. This was in the late 60’s and early 70’s and it was not until years later I realized the reason we always went in the Elm Street entrances was we were not allowed to go into the other ones. She made it a grand adventure. She shielded me from the unrest of the era and gave me my voice today. I will miss you Juanita Noble, thanks for everything. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 from 6-8 PM at Restland Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at 11 AM in the Restland Memorial Park.
