Judith Ann Allison Criswell's Obituary
Judith "Judy" Ann Allison Criswell, age 78, of Temple, Texas, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, just days before her 79th birthday.
Judy was born on June 29, 1946, in Dallas, Texas, to Ruby Faye and Edgar R. Allison. She spent her childhood in Garland, Texas, and graduated from Garland High School in 1965.
In 1968, Judy met the love of her life, Wayne Criswell, and they were married on May 31, 1969. Together, they built a beautiful life, living in Austin, Tyler, and eventually settling in Temple in 1993.
Judy had a caring spirit that she brought into every aspect of her life. She served faithfully as an administrative assistant at First Baptist Church in Temple for many years before continuing her service to the faith community as an assistant to the District Superintendent of the Methodist Church. She retired in 2010 and embraced her next chapter with joy—traveling with Wayne, spending time with loved ones, and caring for her beloved grandchildren.
Judy is survived by her devoted husband of 57 years, Wayne Criswell of Temple; her children, Michael Criswell of Temple, Melissa Piland and husband Scott of Temple, and Mark Criswell and wife Kristi of North Richland Hills; and her cherished grandchildren, Tyler and Leah Kate Criswell, and Allison and Annalee Piland.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Faye and Edgar Allison.
A visitation will be held on Monday, July 7th at 10:30am at the Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas with a graveside service to follow at 11:30am at the Whispering Waters III Section at Restland Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to First Methodist Church of Temple or to Mercy House Temple, Texas.
