Reva K. Gibbon's Obituary
Reva K. (Pascoe) Gibbon was born February 9th, 1940 in Vermillion, South Dakota. She passed away in Plano, Texas on February 7th, 2017 due to complications of C.O.P.D. Reva was also a breast cancer survivor. She is preceded in death by her son Scott, husband Robert, and former husband Larry. She is survived by son Mark, daughter Andrea, son-in-law Tom, son David, daughter-in-law Gilli, granddaughters Stephanie, Tina, Mercedes, Kaitlin, and five great grandchildren. She grew up in a tiny town on the Missouri river and spent her childhood days running around the river bottoms and fields with her faithful sidekick Rusty while her dad was out bird hunting. When they were not out hunting, she was constantly sneaking into her Dad’s garden to steal a tomato right off the vine. Reva attended two years at South Dakota State University and was a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority before marrying her first husband and eventually moving to Dallas. While in Dallas, she met and married her second husband; they married in 1969 until his passing in 1988. She spent her entire career as a legal secretary working primarily in the oil and gas industry and eventually earned her paralegal certification. Her strong work ethic and dedication kept her employed until the ripe old age of 76.The family would like to extend an invitation to all who wish to pay their respects by joining us in a celebration of her life at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas, Texas on Saturday March 10th at 11:30 AM. A brief service will be held at her columbarium followed by lunch at her son David’s house 7005 Pensacola Dr., Plano, TX 75074.Due to Reva’s love of giving back to the community, we ask for donations to be made on her behalf in lieu of flowers. Her most beloved charities are: Susan G. Komen, Farley House, Disabled American Veterans (DAV), and Children’s Hospital of Dallas. If you wish to donate anonymously, know your gift is cherished. Although absent, her presence can still be felt. Our time on this earth is limited, but our spirits live on forever. On behalf of the entire family and friends, we love you.
