Kevin David Richard Dowdye's Obituary
Kevin David Richard Dowdye was born on May 22, 1982, in Houston, TX to Elvis and Islet Joseph. He attended Robert E. Lee High School in Baytown, TX, where he joined the band and excelled in playing the tuba. Immediately after high school graduation, Kevin attended the University of Phoenix. While attending college, he made the decision to join the United States Air Force in November 2001.
During Kevin's career in the Air Force, he received recognition for his leadership and mentorship in Electrical Systems. Kevin was awarded with the Air Force Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal, along with several additional medals and ribbons of honor. Kevin retired from his military career as Staff Sergeant (SSG) in September 2014. Following his military career, Kevin continued his career as a leading Electrical Foreman with Atlas Energy Solutions, until his death on October 21, 2025.
God brought Kevin and his wife, Chasity, together in November 2020. They married on October 24, 2024 and became a family of three. Kevin poured his love, devotion, and care into Hunter as his father, and they made everlasting memories together for the last five years. Kevin was known by many as a very helpful & giving soul. He will be missed by many for the love he showed everyone.
Kevin David Richard Dowdye is survived by his wife (Chasity), son (Hunter), mother; Islet Joseph, bonus mom (Pat Palmer), father; Elvis Joseph & wife (Tracy), brothers: Shawn Joseph & wife (Meriam May), Gerald Phillips, Tyrance Phillips, nieces (Jalianny & Aaliyah), nephews (Aiden & Jael), uncles Darves Dowdy & wife (Alicia), Denfield Dowdye & wife (Katherine), aunties: Izola Dowdye, Monica Richards & husband (Roy), Hellen Dowdy & husband (Claude). Proceeded in death by grandparents (Naomi & David Dowdy) and (Iris & Alfred Joseph). Kevin also leaves behind numerous cousins, his in-laws and friends whom he adored dearly. Long for your unwavering support in helping to honor the legacy of Kevin David Richard Dowdye.
