Kiong Oen Gwie's Obituary
Kiong Oen Gwie, 88, passed away June 19, 2021 in Dallas, Texas. He was born January 22, 1933 in Surabaya, Indonesia.
Kiong married Rony Lie on October 18, 1964 in Jakarta, Indonesia. He was a mechanical engineer at Unilever for eight years and at Ratliff-Purdy-McGuire for forty years. Kiong was a member of Lake Pointe Church.
Kiong was always thankful for being able to immigrate to the United States where he could freely worship God and make a good living. Being in Texas was a bonus, and he became a U.S. citizen in 1976. As a father, he sacrificed for his family to make ends meet by working second jobs when needed. He also looked forward to yearly vacation road trips with his family. The bible was very important to him and he wanted his family to know God's word. He would tell people about God's grace and supported the worldwide ministry of "Thru The Bible" radio program.
