The loss of my uncle, Leo Fallen, has left me with great sadness. He was my last family member that I have known all my life. In some ways he was the father I didn't have…he gave me away when I got married. I'm so thankful I could be at his bedside holding his hand till the very end. Claudette

Cousin Leo was a model citizen, and one of the hard-working men who helped make our country strong. I salute him for his service during the Second World War. During a combat mission, his unit was taken captive and held in a POW camp in Germany. A proud and active man, and a retiree of Ford Motor Company, Leo was a credit to his community, and an inspiration to all. We have lost a good man.
My cousin Leo was a good man with a quick smile. I will miss him and the stories he had from such a long and full life. I remember thinking, at his 98th birthday party, how much energy, laughter, and enthusiasm he had for life and whatever the next day might bring. My thoughts and prayers are with Cousin Leo?s family. David and I have enjoyed our visits with Leo over the years and his visits to Michigan to see us. Leo was pretty much game for whatever we wanted to see and do. He loved to play Dominos and we enjoyed playing the game with him. The acceptance and memories and love that he has given to us will be treasured. Leo had been through and seen much in his 99 years of life. He survived rough times, such as being in a Nazi POW camp, to go on and live a healthy life. David and I are so happy to have had his love. Our cousin, Leo Fallen, was recipient of the Purple Heart awarded to him for his courageous military service during World War II. We are sorry to hear of my cousin Leo' s passing. I have fond memories and pictures of he, Marie and David coming to Arkansas to see us years ago. We have kept up with Leo in the past few years, and I wish I could have been with him to celebrate his 99th birthday. Leo was a truly special man.
