Leslie Jack Birdwell's Obituary
Leslie Jack Birdwell, better known to his friends and family as “Paw Paw”. He was the Patriarch of a very large family which spanned four generations in his lifetime. He had five children and a whole mess of grandchildren, but this eulogy is about him. He was the rock of consistency, having been married only once to Golden Eddy for just a smidgen under 74 years when she passed last year in June. That broke Jack’s heart. After all, he had lost his soul mate and lifelong companion. Understandably, he began to go down quickly. However, he did make a small comeback last year around his birthday, when a surprise party was held for him and he saw how much everybody still loved him. But, his tired body parts soon overtook him again and his quality of life was not too good these last months. It was a blessing, seeing him pass from the suffering. I know Nanny is one happy lady now that Paw Paw is with her again. You know he kept her waiting a little over a year. And I know Paw Paw is really happy again, finally hooking up with Nanny again. I know they will be looking over us and waiting to see us on the other side. God blessed Paw Paw and God blessed all of us with Paw Paw in our life. We’re going to miss him, but we ain’t going to forget him. That’s a promise!
