Letha Mae Cox's Obituary
Letha Mae Cox died on Thursday, September 16 after a brief illness. For 48 years, she was married to William Cox, deceased in 1992, and she is survived by their four children Larry, Jan, Marta, and Yvonne as well as seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Letha was born on August, 25, 1925, was an accomplished pianist and an academic genius. She graduated Valedictorian from Forest Avenue High School at the age of 16 in 1942 and attended Southern Methodist University on full academic and music scholarships. For most of her life, she gave her musical talents to various churches in the Dallas area by playing for church services and Sunday school classes, including First Baptist, Second Baptist, Lakeside Baptist and Skyline Baptist. She also worked for Southwestern Life Insurance Company as a faithful employee for over 35 years. Letha was a Godly, humble, unselfish, diligent, loving mother and friend as well as a prayer warrior, and she will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Letha’s funeral service will be at Restland in Dallas at the Wildwood Chapel on Monday, September 20th at 3 pm.
