Linda Neil Thoreson's Obituary
In loving memory of Linda Neil Thoreson who passed away on December 27, 2023.
Linda was born on November 29, 1946, to Linden and Laurlene Thoreson in Dallas, Texas. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Dallas and Austin College in Sherman, Texas. She taught history to middle schoolers for 39 years and earned her master's degree from SMU while teaching.
She is survived by brothers, Tom Barry (Barbara), Bill Thoreson (Linda) and Dr. Robert Thoreson (Cindy) and sister, Ann McQueary. Also 9 nieces and nephews—Terry, Shonica, Scott, Brian, Melissa, Michelle, Dan, Cathy, Chris and 14 great nieces and nephews.
One of Linda’s favorite things to do with family for a number of years was rent a beach house on the Texas coast and invite as many family members as the house would hold for a week of sun and sand. She loved to sit in the shade, listen to the sound of the ocean and read.
Another thing that brought great joy to Linda was spending time and having lunch with her friends and former teaching buddies (Las Divas).
Linda will be deeply missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing her.
