Linna Faye Leggett Smith's Obituary
Mrs. Linna Faye Smith, affectionately known as Faye, Mom, Mamaw, or Aunt Faye, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2025, at the age of 97 in Allen, Texas.
Born to William and Effie Leggett, Faye was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She lived a life filled with love, faith, and dedication to her family, and community. On June 21, 1947, she married the love of her life, the late Mansel Ray Smith, with whom she shared many cherished years.
Faye was a longtime member of The First Assembly of God, where she faithfully served for 74 years. Her love of children was evident during her 23 years as a Sunday school teacher, touching countless lives with her kindness and wisdom.
Her passions included cooking, gardening, and sewing, where she displayed her creative talents and poured love into everything she did. Faye’s home was a place of warmth, where her family gathered to enjoy her meals, share stories, and create lasting memories.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Effie Leggett; her beloved husband, Mansel Ray Smith; her son, Donald Ray Smith; her brothers Arvil, Albert, Mansey Fred, Rayford, and Burl; and her sisters Mary, Robbie, and Rosa.
Faye leaves behind a legacy of love and faith through her surviving family: her son, Thomas Eugene Smith, and his wife Cyndy; Donny’s wife Joy; her grandchildren, Jennifer Lynn Smith, Julie Donnell McKeown, April Smith, Thomas Smith, and Ember Smith Fenton; and her great-grandchildren, Carson McKeown, Donnell McKeown, Alexander Fenton, and Gavin Fenton.
Faye's unwavering faith, generous heart, and dedication to her family and community will be forever remembered. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the love she shared.
