Loa G. Johnson's Obituary
Loa G. Johnson
Loa died peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on August 10, 2021.
She was born January 17, 1933, the only child of Bill and Hilma Glasson, in Houma, Louisiana. She lived there until she met and married the love of her life, John Howard Johnson. They had four children - Lorraine (Lorri), Denise, Angela, and Mark.
Loa stayed home to raise her family but made time to play tennis and bunco, to go bowling, and to go to Dallas Cowboys and Dallas Stars games. She loved animals, she loved to dance and she loved Christmas, often adding some new tradition while faithfully keeping the old ones. Most of all, she loved her family, including her grandkids and great-grandkids, who called her MeeMaw, and she was generous with them.
In spite of her failing health in her last few years, she was able to stay in her home, thanks, in large part, to the loving care she received from her caregivers, Mattie, Marie, and Donna.
Loa was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband, Johnny. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Lorraine Taylor (Craig), Denise Reinert (Ray), Angela Neff (Curt), and Mark Johnson (Kathy). She was blessed to have six grandchildren, Grace Taylor, Ryan Reinert (Courtney), Robbie Reinert, Rachel Neff (Sam McKee, fiancé), Ethan Johnson, and Leah Baker., and three great-grandchildren, Emma (age 6), Abigail (age 4), and Gabriel (age 3).
Loa was a fierce and feisty Cajun who lived life on her own terms. She will be sadly missed.
A Service will be Friday, August 20, 2021 at 2:00 PM in the Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home.
