Lois Jean Schedler's Obituary
Schedler, Lois was born on September 12, 1934 in Hinton, Oklahoma and passed away on March 30, 2013in Dallas, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Maude Winn and Vernon Nix; her beloved husband, Edmund W. Schedler, Jr.; her sister, Elperna Mills and 5 brothers, Frank, Jack, Carl, Glen and Dois. Lois is survived by 7 children: Mark, Melanie, David, Robert (Bobby), Nancy, Kurt and Kris; 11 grandchildren: Nathanial, Madison, Lara, Justin, Lauren, Ryan, Braden, Brooke, David II, Edmund III (Trey) and Evan; 5 great grandchildren: Abigail, Price, Patrick, Thomas and Allison; 3 brothers, Roy, Garland and Curtis. Lois met and married her college professor, Edmund W. Schedler, while attending Oklahoma State University. They were wed on July 4, 1954. Shortly after their marriage they moved to Dallas, TX where Edmund taught electrical engineering at SMU while Lois stayed at home to raise their 7 children. In addition to raising her children, Lois worked as her husband’s secretary for many years. Edmund died in 1992. In Lois’ later years she enjoyed nothing more than to be surrounded by her children and grandchildren watching her favorite teams, the Rangers and the Mavericks play ball. Those who knew Sweet Lois will always remember her as a kind, graceful, generous soul who touched so many. We will miss her deeply but will cherish the richness and love she brought to our lives. Family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00PM, Monday, April 8, 2013 at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be held at 12:30PM, Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at Restland Wildwood Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Greater Dallas, 4144 N. Central Expressway, Ste. 750, Dallas, TX 75204 or your favorite charity. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM on Monday, April 8, 2013 at Restland Funeral Home. Services will be at 12:30 PM on Tuesday, March 9, 2013 in Restland Wildwood Chapel.
