Lola Frances Sparkman/Taylor, 89 years of age passed away on August 26, 2021 in Carrollton, Texas.
Lola was born in Comanche, Oklahoma to Albert Leonard and Ruby Watson Gilliland on August 21, 1932. She attended school in Aubrey, Texas. Lola married Ernest Windle Sparkman on December 28, 1949 in Denton, Tx. Lola attended Beauty school to become a manicurist, graduated and made many people happy with her professional service. Many years later she became a checker for Safeway Stores where she had numerous customers who sought her out.
Lola is preceded in death by her husband Ernest Windle Sparkman of Aubrey, Texas, her father Albert Leonard Gilliland and her mother Ruby Watson Gilliland of Aubrey, TX. Her brothers W.B Gilliland (Buddy) of Aubrey, TX and Bailey Wayne Gilliland of Pilot Point, T X.
Lola is survived by her daughter Gwen Whiddon and husband John of Carrollton, TX. Her son Len Sparkman and wife Yvette of Frisco TX. Her sisters Lottie Marks of Kansas City, Missouri and Julia Mae Brisco of Pilot Point, TX. Her brother Johnny Gilliland of Aubry, TX. Her grandchildren Russell Whiddon and wife Amanda of Lorena, TX, Brooke Haddock and husband Brent of Frisco, TX, Cara Williams and husband Tommy of Frisco, TX, Julie Beth Gomez and her husband Mark of Princeton, TX and Kevin Sparkman of Frisco, TX. Her great grandchildren Kale‘a Otter, Turner Williams, Cash Gomez, Raylan Whiddon, Quinlan Whiddon, and Caden Scott and an infinite list of friends that she knew and loved.
Pallbearers will be Len Sparkman (son), Russell Whiddon (grandson), Ricardo Hernandez ( grandson), Kevin Sparkman (grandson) Justin Crowley (great nephew), Michael Love (great Nephew), Honorary Pallbearers John Wesley Gilliland (great nephew) and Caedon York (Great great nephew).
Memorial may be given to the American Kidney Fund. The family of Lola Frances Sparkman/Taylor wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the staff of Plano Presbyterian Hospital and Vitas Hospice for the wonderful care they gave Lola in her final days.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 1, 2021 from 3-5 PM at Restland Funeral Home located at 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday September 2, 2021 at 2PM. Restland Funeral Home located at 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.. Burial will follow at Restland Cemetery in the Veterans Garden II. Arrangements are by Restland Funeral Home.
