Lonny O'Neal Rousseau's Obituary
Lonny O’Neal Rousseau, 72, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, August 6, 2016 after valiantly enduring a long illness. Lonny was born September 19, 1943 in Mount Pleasant, TX the son of Elry Lonzo Rousseau and Flossie Lee Burrow. He graduated from N.R. Crozier Technical High School in Dallas in 1962 and furthered his education with an associate’s degree in electronics from Mountain View College in Dallas. Lonny married his high school sweetheart, Linda Upper on February 2, 1962 and raised five children in Dallas and Cedar Hill, TX. For ten years, he and his wife, Linda owned their own electronic assembly business. Lonny later retired from the D.A.R.T. light rail division where he worked as a supervisor until 2011. As a devoted disciple of Jesus Christ and lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Lonny found joy in serving diligently and always helping others as the Savior did. Lonny could fix anything and showed his love for his family, friends and even strangers through his tireless work and willingness to lend a hand. He will be remembered for his knowledge, wit, hard work, integrity and devotion. Lonny also served in the LDS Dallas Temple for over twenty years. He is survived by his beloved wife, Linda of 54 years; his brother Wayne Rousseau, sisters Ruby Puckette, Ruth Leavitt and Peggy Collotzi; his daughters, Laurie (Dean) Adawi, Londa (Lamar) Stradling and Leah (Anthony) Lloyd; his sons, Leslie (Christine) Rousseau and Layne (Nikki) Rousseau; twenty-six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held this Saturday, August 13th at 11 am at the LDS Waxahachie chapel, 2418 Brown Street, Waxahachie, TX. Viewing and visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 am prior to the service. Interment will follow at Restland Cemetery in Dallas, TX. “I have fought a good fight. I have finished my course.
