Mrs. Love Vell Duffie's Obituary
Love Vell (Lovell) McKinney Duffie, loving known as MeMe, went to be with the Lord on December 16, 2020. Lovell was 99 years young and a resident of Dallas, TX for 50 plus years. As a Believer in Christ, she affiliated with the Church of the Living God on Lovers Lane where she was active as a Church Mother. She was a dedicated Christian who loved the Lord with all her heart.
Lovell was born May 5, 1921 to parents, Lamon and Rosie McKinney. She was wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend to many.
In Rusk County, Lovell met and married Andrew Duffie. Through this union, they were blessed with two children: daughter, Lovie and son Andrew, Jr. Lovell was happiest when loving and spoiling her grandchildren. Her love, humor, and spirit will live on in our hearts forever.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew, Sr., daughter, Lovie, and son Andrew, Jr. She leaves to cherish her loving memory: her faithful daughter-in-love, Gracie Duffie; brothers, Benjamin Scott Weatherton, and Harvard Bill Weatherton (Mary); three grandchildren, Darrell Duffie (Gwen), Roderick Duffie (Pat), Andrea Nickerson (Derrick), great-grandchildren, great-great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. It through this multitude of loved ones that Lovell’s legacy will live on forever.
