Lynn Patrick Brooks' Obituary
81, of Randolph, Texas, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed peacefully from this earthly home December 1, 2008 surrounded by his family. Lynn Brooks was born May 13, 1927 in Dallas County, Texas to W.L. and Dora Mae Brooks. He is survived by his loving wife, LaJuana Cotton Brooks; daughter Debra Lynne Shaw & husband James Shaw; son, Robert Rankin Brooks; daughter, Mary Beth Swadley; son, Joseph Emerson Brooks & wife Ginger Brooks; nine grandchildren; Kathryn Denise Elson & husband Bobby Elson, Spencer Brooks Shaw & wife Keri Shaw, Stephen Barrett Shaw & wife Lisa Shaw, Abigail Lynn Pierson & husband Aaron Pierson, James Abram Swadley, Luke Michael Swadley, Daniel Brooks Swadley, Benjamin Ross Brooks, and Summer Nicole Brooks; Great – granddaughters; Brooklyn Reese Elson & Jo Anne-Marie Shaw; sisters; Nona Mullins of Durant, Oklahoma & Lillian Rosser of Waxahachie, Texas; mother-in-law, Juanita Lesley; two nephews; Richard Mullins and Bill Rosser; three nieces; Brenda McBride, Joanne Hutchens, and Ginger Crowder. He leaves a legacy of faith in God, love for family and service to others. After graduating from North Texas State University, Lynn Brooks served in the armed forces. He served the students of Dallas ISD for 30 years and he enjoyed spending the last 20 years raising cattle and horses on the family farm in Randolph, Texas. Visitation will be held at Restland Memorial Chapel in Dallas 1 hour prior to the service on Friday December 5th at 12:30 p.m., with Dr. George A. Mason officiating. Burial will be at Restland.
