BURLESON, MARGARET EVELYN Was born in Richardson Texas. She was a 1935 Graduate of Richardson High School. She was married to H. Milton Burleson in 1939. During her career she held many offices in the Garland chapter of the American Business Women’s Association including a term as President and was voted Woman of the Year. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Garland for over 50 years. More recently she attended the First Baptist Church in Cooper, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband Milton, two sisters, Sue Fitzgerald of Durgin, Texas and Billy Jo Fitzgerald of Groves, Texas. She is survived by a sister, Bess Stovall of Littleton, Colorado. “Giving” best describes Margaret Huffhines Burleson. She gave her love and friendship unconditionally. She was always considered “sweet” in personality. She didn’t believe in gossip or lying – she believed in not saying anything about one if it couldn’t be nice. She loved parties and preparing for them almost as much as the party itself. She believed in having fun, laughing and hugging but being serious when the occasion required and expected people to conduct themselves appropriately. She never considered herself a “gourmet” cook but appreciated the love and taste that went into good food. She was a Lady of many talents. In her younger years she was a talented seamstress, creating everything from beautiful clothing to draperies. Later before her hands were hit with arthritis, she made gorgeous hand stitched blankets and crocheted lovely throws. All of us that were so lucky to receive those gifts of love cherish each one. Even though she had some big disappointments in her life— she always kept her loving and positive attitude. Her faith in God kept her strong. She will be dearly missed among us all, leaving us such wonderful memories and having made us all better people for having her in our lives. She is deservingly in heaven now with her loved ones and God. Graveside service will be held at 1:00PM, Wednesday, March 23, 2011 Restland Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6:00PM – 8:00PM, Tuesday at Restland Funeral Home.
