Mrs Margaret Carolyn Herrera's Obituary
HERRERA, MARGARET M., Devoted wife, mother, aunt and grandmother passed away April 28, 2008. Margaret worked for Dallas ISD for over 25 years. She was a Counselor at North Dallas High School and later became the Director of Counseling and Guidance for the Dallas ISD. She was a charter member of the Association of Hispanic School Administrators, American School Counselor Association and Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. The Margaret and Gilbert Herrera Intake Center has been established as a Resource Center for incoming immigrant students and families. She is preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Herrera and son, Donald Herrera. Margaret is survived by her daughter, Carmen Wayland and husband David; sons, Ron Herrera and wife Carolyn, Gilbert Herrera and wife Kari, Mark Herrera and wife Rebecca and Karl Herrera; grandchildren, Caroline Murtaugh, Baine, Travis, Grant, Amanda, Marcus, Rachel, Kody and Karsten Herrera; brothers, Dr. James Moye, William Moye and several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Memorials may be made to The Society for PSP, 11350 McCormick Rd. Suite 906, Hunt Valley, MD 21031 or to the Dallas Association of Hispanic Administrators, DISD Administration, 3700 Rose Ave., Dallas, TX 75204. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be at 10:30 am on Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at the Cathedral of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 2215 Ross Ave, Dallas, TX 75202.
