Margaret Ruth Watkins' Obituary
The best mother anyone ever had, died Feb. 19, 2010. Her family always knew they were loved, and we loved her. We’ll miss her sense of humor, sweet spirit and strong faith. Born in Dallas Nov. 12, 1923. Married 28 yrs. Devoted homemaker, living in Richardson since 1954. Worked & volunteered at Richardson hospital. Widowed 1977. Earned associate’s degree from Richland College. Founding member St. Luke’s Lutheran, member of Canyon Creek Presbyterian and St. Barnabas Presbyterian (Richardson churches). Loved to travel & called Europe trip the “highlight of my life”. Resided in recent yrs at Appletree Court & Arden Courts. Survived by brother Benjamin Jack Stevens of Greenville, TX. Preceded in death by husband Fred Lee Watkins and parents Benjamin Ottawa and Ruth Butcher Stevens. Leaves daughters & sons-in-law Carol Ann and Joe Shaw of Mertzson, TX, Gail Elaine and Jim Chandler and grandchildren Mike McCoy, Danny and Kelly Cushing, Sara Margaret Cushing and Katherine Chandler (all of Dallas).
