Marianne Frances Easterling's Obituary
Marianne Frances Easterling, 89, of Dallas passed away on March 24, 2024. She was born on July 25, 1929, to Willis and Frances Lamson in Girard, Kansas. In 1952, after graduating from High School in Coffeyville, Kansas, she went on to study Nutrition (Dietetics) at Oklahoma State University. During college, she met and fell in love with Harold Fenton Easterling. They were married in 1954, and they shared over 68 happy years together. Fenton and Marianne would go on to have three children, Cathie, Darcy, and David. She was a wonderful and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
Marianne had an equally important job as Fenton, she stayed home and raised their family. When the children were older, she volunteered her time at Primetime Treasures and Thrift House, which was organized by Church of the Incarnation of Dallas, where Fenton and Marianne attended for over 50 years. She was a member of the North Dallas Woman’s Club, Daughters of the American Revolution, and the National Society of The Colonial Dames of America.
Marianne enjoyed attending Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers games with Fenton. She enjoyed traveling to Charleston, South Carolina with Fenton, friends, and family. Where they enjoyed peaceful walks on the beach, eating at the local restaurants, and visiting many of the historical sites. She was a great cook, just like her mother. She and Fenton enjoyed hosting dinner club for their friends. Her family, especially, enjoyed the banana cakes and blueberry desserts made just for birthdays.
Marianne was preceded in death by her husband, Fenton, and by her parents, Willis and Frances. She is survived by her daughter, Cathie Mason of Campbell, TX; son Darcy Easterling and wife Christine of Flower Mound, TX, and son David Easterling of Dallas, TX; her sister Margaret Whittaker of Minneapolis, MN; grandchildren Makenzie Mason, Andrew Easterling, Dylan Easterling, Aidan Easterling; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers please donate in Marianne’s memory to the United Ostomy Association of America.
There will be a memorial service at Church of the Incarnation at 3966 McKinney Ave. in Dallas on April 26th at 11 am. A reception will follow the memorial service.
