Marietta L. Gonzales Garcia, born January 19, 1937 in Gerona, Tarlac, Philippines, joined her Lord & Savior on February 9, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents Miguel V. Gonzales & Remedios Lacson Gonzales; sister Rosie G. Verceles; brothers Ramon L. Gonzales and Danilo L. Gonzales; and her son James Anthony G. Garcia. She grew up in Baguio City, Philippines, where she attended & graduated high school at Holy Family College/ St. Theresa’s College. She graduated from the College of Pharmacy, University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines in 1957. In 1958, she was crowned Miss Philippines Lions. Then from 1959 – 1961, she studied Medical Technology in Baltimore, MD. She and Carmelo Atangan Garcia. M.D. were married on December 8, 1961 and begot three children: Azalea Marie G. Sison (husband, Antonio P. Sison, M.D.), Patrick Arnold G. Garcia (wife, Josephine Antonette C. Lazaro Garcia), James Anthony G. Garcia, who died on July 16, 1997. She was an Auxiliary Member of the Philippine American Association of Family Physicians –USA and the North Texas Association of Philippine Physicians. She leaves behind five grandchildren: Angelica Maria G. Sison, Adrian Paul G. Sison, Augustus James G. Sison, Carmelo Antonio L. Garcia, II, and Justin Xavier L. Garcia; brothers & sisters: Carolina (husband, Lonnie) G. Leal, Francisco L. Gonzales, Arturo (wife, Mariless Villar) L. Gonzales, Aurea L. Gonzales, George (wife, Purisima) L. Gonzales, Angelito (wife Roxanne) L. Gonzales, & Manuel Gonzales; several cousins, nephews, nieces, grandnephews & grandnieces; and lots of dear and beloved friends. She is greatly missed. Viewing Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243 Friday, February 26, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at St. Jude Catholic Church, 1515 N. Greenville Ave., Allen, TX 75002 Saturday February 27, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. followed by entombment at Restland Abby Mausoleum. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Catholic Church, 1515 N. Greenville Ave., Allen, TX 75002.
