Martha A. Koenig's Obituary
Age 83, of Canton, TX, passed away suddenly February 7, 2009. The first of 5 children, she was born June 27, 1925 in Fayette County to Joe and Mary Skubal. She lived in Garland for over 40 years before moving to Canton. She loved life, living, and dancing but nothing compared to love for her family. She will be missed deeply by all. Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Mary Skubal; husband, Bill Koenig; daughter, Janet Sue Holbrook; grandson, Justin Holbrook; and brother, Lambert Skubal. She is survived by son, Lester Koenig of Tenaha, TX; daughter, Barbara Abbott of Houston, TX; sisters, Maryann Fojtik of Taylor, TX, Adaline Kovar of Rockdale, TX, Evelyn Kubicek of Columbus, TX; 2 grandsons, Steven and Derek Abbott; 2 granddaughters, Amy Holbrook and Barbara Moore; 2 great-grandsons, Austin and Ethan Abbott; 3 great-granddaughters, Ashly Kidd, Jessica Moore, and Mikaela Moore-Cedillo; and 3 great-great-granddaughters, Alayna Rawson, Brittany Kidd and Hailey Smith; as well as a special friend, Bonnie. Funeral services will be 12:30 pm, Tuesday, February 10, 2009 in Restland’s Memorial Chapel, with visitation one hour prior to service.
