Mary Katherine Brand, 89, of Hideaway, Texas was born on August 18th, 1934 in Dallas, Texas to the parents of Robert and Elizabeth Green and passed away on September 16th, 2023 peacefully at her home in Hideaway.
Preceded in death by: husband, Herbert Ross Brand; son, Terry Lee McCoy; sister, Bobbie Jean Hampton; parents, Robert Riley Green and Elizabeth B Smith Green.
Survived by: daughter, Yvonne Sue McCoy; sons, Brandon Ross Brand with spouse Dasha Brand, and Kirk Allen Wiley with spouse Brenda Wiley; grandsons, Robert Lee Michael Tucker, Broderick “Brody” Wynn Lyons, Landon Dashaun Brand, Laith Dashayne Brand, Colt Allen Wiley; granddaughters, Lilyauna Dashae Brand, Vivian Rosenda Marie Brand, Elena Elizabeth Brand; great grandsons, Tommy Joe Lyons II, Isaac Allen Wiley, Elijah Anthony Wiley; great granddaughters, Layla Rose Lyons, Melanie Marie Wiley, Maddison Grace Wiley; sister, Sylvia Ann Garrett; brothers, Jesse Perry Green, Leon Preston Green and Robert Riley Green Jr.
Mary Katherine was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother who loved her family and friends. She enjoyed dancing with her longtime friend of many years, Dee Arnold, at the Longhorn Ballroom in Dallas, Texas, where she met and married the father of two of her children, musician George McCoy. She loved watching soap operas, playing solitaire games on her television, visiting campgrounds and fishing with her late husband Herb and traveling. She was known for her “quirky” speech and vocabulary, making and leaving great and humorous memories for her kids and grandkids that will never be forgotten. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.
Services will be held in the Wildwood Chapel located at Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas, Texas 75243 on Sunday, September 24th, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be on Saturday, September 23, 2023 from 5-8 p.m.
