My memories of Mary Jane are so varied. Her sweet spirit, her love for Jesus, love for God's Word, love for teaching, her charming sense of humor, her gentleness, her love for her family, love for her BSF family. I will never forget her! My memories of dear Mary Jane encompass almost 50 years and are precious to me! She has been much more than a friend to me, prayer warrior for my family, confidant, bonded together in Christ are just a get of the ways I would describe our friendship! I treasure all the years of serving under her leadership in Bible Study Fellowship! How blessed I have been to spend time with her and her dear family! Mary Jane and I shared a room at an early BSF Retreat. She shared a scripture with me that deeply impacted my life and I am only one of the many she blessed with her life and love. When asked who are some of the most important mentors, leaders and friends in my lifetime, Mary Jane would be in my list in all categories. I was privileged to be involved with the first BSF class in the Dallas Area when she moved from Arkansas to the DFW area. She was the Teaching Leader for many years and the classes began expanding quickly to be filled to capacity (think back then it was 400) as the various churches had space. I also lived in Georgia and visited family there. On occasions I would run into her and members of her family at the Atlanta Airport. When a divorce occurred in 1979, I could no longer be involved in BSF because of having to go to work with four children. It was during those years of indepth Bible Study thru BSF (and Mary Jane's compassion and affirmation) that I realized years later that those years and study changed my life – giving hope and faith that God is with us in every phase of our lives, loves us unconditionally, and celebrates as we enter Eternity – even as Mary Jane is doing now. Memories of Mary Jane are sweet and many. Knowing her and listening to her teach the Bible at BSF changed my life because she helped me understand the Gospel of Jesus Christ and begin a personal relationship with Him during that first Pilot class in Dallas. I am forever grateful for the time spent with Mary Jane. I am blessed because of Mary Jane, Jane and Sarah. Thinking of you now and in the days ahead.
